The American Gothic Performing Arts Festival (AGPAF) has been a cultural destination event for the residents of Ottumwa, Wapello County, and their guests celebrating the performing arts, specifically musical theater, in an open and friendly atmosphere. Significant to the festival’s ongoing success is its location in Wapello County. World-renowned as the setting for Grant Wood’s painting American Gothic, Wapello County provides an incomparable setting for audiences and performers alike with its natural beauty, impressive array of preserved historical architecture, a fine collection of performance venues and welcoming communities.
