Studio

The American Gothic Musical Theater Studio provides performance-based training to high school-aged students, who desire to be musical theater artists. Study is focused on acting, singing and dancing with an eye on college admission preparation to a collegiate performing arts program. Technique classes, individual coachings, rehearsals and masterclasses round out the experience.

The Studio is part of the American Gothic Performing Arts Festival held annually in June. The Studio experience culminates with the presentation of the festival’s closing weekend major musical theater production at Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. Studio participants will serve as ensemble members and will also have the opportunity to perform in featured roles.

Admittance to the Studio experience is gained through a successful audition. Auditions will be accepted virtually. The number of students is ultimately based upon the needs of the production, but the average number of students accepted will be 4-8.
